Badminton Success for Piopio College

PIOPIO COLLEGE dominated the recent King Country Badminton competition with not only numbers but also skill! It is evident badminton is a favourite of our students as we took 48 through to Te Awamutu to compete.

The junior competition was tightly contested by all Piopio College students with a strong Year 8 & 9 team coming first. The team consisted of Isaac Carter, Trey Mason, Rhythm Croft & Kasey Hiriaki. Well done on your success . There were some excellent displays of determination, courage and sportsmanship.

In the senior competition we had one team entered and they came away as the overall winners. This team consisted of Ryan Smith, Lachie Burnell, Alex Kennard-Warren and Kelani Tapara. Impressive skills were also displayed by these students, who were so humble in their success.

Thank you to the staff who assisted on the day and to the students who participated. The day was filled with lots of learning, supporting/encouraging and most of all fun!
