Piopio College Badminton team performs well in King Country Championships

RECENTLY Piopio College proudly sent one determined team to compete in the King Country Secondary Schools Badminton Championships - and what a day it was!

Our talented team of Putiputi Barnsdall, Heath Cody, Miriama Newton, and Ryshard Tapara battled through the round robin and finals, dropping only two games the entire day. Their incredible consistency, skill and teamwork earned them the title of King Country Badminton Junior Champions for 2025! Not only did they bring home the championship, but they also showcased excellence, respect, and top sportsmanship to each of their opponents - a true reflection of Piopio College values both on and off the court.

A huge thank you to the parents who came along to support, cheer, and encourage our players. Your presence makes a world of difference.

And, of course, nga mihi nui to Piopio College for enabling our students to participate in opportunities like these, where they can represent our kura and community with pride.
