Hope you all had a good Christmas and an enjoyable holiday break.

It is great to see Piopio looking so prosperous. There is no doubt that the upgrade of the Café has made a huge difference to stopping the through traffic. I’d like to wish Cerise Bevege all the best with her new business “Forage” and encourage locals to support her.

I realise that overflowing rubbish bins can be a problem and hopefully we can find ways that this can be improved during these busy holiday times.

Piopio Pool and Project Piopio both received $10,000.00 three year grants. Council had applications for twice the amount of money available.

This coming year the big items on the calendar are Local Water Done Well, and a decision on the future of the landfill.

Once again I would like to thank all who volunteer their time throughout the district, to make our community an attractive and inviting place to be.
