Frederick Miller Memorial

The cross on the hill honours Frederick Miller, first Missionary in this district, arriving in 1842. The Memorial Cairn below the rhyolite cliff is the site of the Mission Station.

Access is on Tuhua Road off State Highway 4. Cross the bridge and it is a 20 minute walk to panoramic views.

Note that the climb is quite steep and ground uneven. It is approximately 20 minutes drive from Piopio.
